New Patients

Your first visit as a New Patient usually last between 30 to 45 minutes and include:

  • Oral Cancer Screening
  • Gum Condition Charting - tooth support
  • Full dental examination
  • Extra and intra oral photographs and radiographs.(x-rays only if necessary
  • Discussing your concerns about your dental health

Following your dental exam and resulting X-rays/oral photographs, we then jointly decide on the best way to tackle your immediate dental problems and what approach we'll follow to look after you in the long term.

Often a second follow up visit (at no further charge) is required to fully discuss the bespoke treatment plan and possible costs involved before your treatment begins.

Nervous and Anxious Patients. Our team takes great pride in our gentle, caring and friendly manner. We invite you to visit Southwoods Dental and meet the team, where we sincerely hope that you too will experience our approach as compassionate and welcoming.

Children

We welcome children from the earliest possible age to encourage good oral hygiene and a healthy diet. A friendly warm welcome early on in life helps to see them grow up completely lacking in any fear of the dentist.

IMPORTANT, new patients must first call the practice before coming into the surgery. The practice door is kept locked and you will only be allowed into the premises if your visit has been pre-arranged. See our > Coronavirus standard of procedure update page.

All new patients need to fill out a Medical History Form. These can be obtained from reception and you will need to fill in a separate form for each new patient who wishes to register. To save you time, you can download the form here and print it off to be filled in at home. You can then bring the completed form with you when you come in to register.
